What Success Means Now

Volume 01· Note 16· 4 min

If you had asked me ten years ago what success looked like, my answer would probably have involved a title, achievements or reaching a destination.

For a long time, I believed success always lived somewhere in the future.

Another goal.

Another promotion.

Another milestone.

Now I realise something.

Life quietly happens while we're chasing those things.

The conversations.

The ordinary evenings.

The coffee with friends.

The phone calls with my mum.

Those moments aren't distractions from success.

They are success.

Work still matters to me.

I'm ambitious.

I still enjoy building things.

I still want to learn more.

But I no longer want achievement to come at the cost of presence.

Because one day, I don't think I'll remember every project I worked on.

I think I'll remember the people I shared those years with.

That's enough for me.

For now, that's what success looks like.
