Titles Don't Change People
I've had different job titles over the years.
Developer.
Operations Manager.
COO.
They're useful.
People need titles.
Companies need structure.
But I've never believed they define a person.
The work remains the same.
Solve problems.
Help people.
Keep learning.
I still enjoy opening code.
I still ask questions.
I still make mistakes.
None of those things disappeared because my title changed.
If anything, the responsibility simply became wider.
One thing I've learned is that respect doesn't come from what's written on your LinkedIn profile.
It comes from how consistently people can rely on you.
That's much harder to earn.
And much easier to lose.
So whenever someone introduces me by my role, I appreciate it.
But internally, I try to remember something much simpler.
Long before I had a title, I was just someone who liked solving problems.
I'd like to stay that person.
